Interested in swimming the Brighton Jetty Classic but feeling a bit unsure? Or perhaps want some extra coaching to sharpen your skills and build your confidence?
The Be Active program is funded by the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club and the Government of South Australia, Office for Recreation & Sport.
It is free to participants and aimed at both new comers and old hands to improve their techniques and confidence for open water swimming.
Participants must be able to swim & at least 12yrs of age. Sessions are held at the Brighton Surf Club from 2.15pm Saturday afternoons. They commence at the Start of November and are held every Saturday up to the 7 Brighton Jetty Classic at the start of February.

The Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic is South Australia’s largest open water swim and street festival. Held on the first Sunday in February annually since 2006.
It attracts a field in excess of 1,000 entries for the 1,500m and 400m swims.
It also has distances for the younger ones to build confidence in the ocean, with the kids swims of 300m, 200m and 100m, so everyone from 7 years old can be involved.
