Nipper Board Training is available for Nipers competing in carnivals who hold a current 'red patch' for their age group. Nipper Board Training is held Tuesdays from November to February 6pm - 7pm. Meet on the beach. Any parents who hold a bronze qualification are encouraged to help on the night with water cover. |

Nipper Information - COME N TRY Sat 17h Oct & Sat 24th Oct 1:30 pm. Parent & child must sign a Waiver for the session.
- First Full Nipper Training Day: Saturday 31st October 1.30pm on the beach
- Note: any first time nippers or those that were not registered last season, must have a completed Waiver form before the nipper can take part in any activity. If you are in this situation, please be at the Club in plenty of time to get the form done so your nipper is ready to go to the beach by 1.30pm.
- Junior March Past Training: Saturdays 12.30pm for 12.45pm start - all current and new marchers very welcome.
BBQ We also have a BBQ each week and the bar is open after the 4pm swim. Volunteers are required to help run the BBQ and other events the social committee will be approaching members with a roster. Carnivals In addition to Saturday Nippers, thre are carnivals for U9 to U14. Please refer to the diary dates section of this newsletter. Carnivals are not compulsory. Bronze Training & SRC Certificate - Water cover We are required to provide water cover during Nippers, if you have your Bronze, please offer to help – let your Age Manager know. If you would like to get your Bronze, information is available from the web or at the club. Only Bronze holders (or those in training) are eligible to use club craft, boards and gymnasium. Club swim: After Nippers, the Club holds a 4pm swim, open to all senior members and competent Nippers. The Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic www.brightonjettyclassic.com You are invited to join the Brighton Jetty Classic, the largest ocean swimming event in South Australia, winner of the Event Category, 2006 Recreation and Sport Industry Awards and The City of Holdfast Bay Major Event Award, 2007. Over 1,000 swimmers enter the event each year. Prizes are awarded for all events with cash prizes for the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic Open 1500 Event and the Wallspan Kitchen Connection Fast Lap. When is Nippers? Nippers is held on Saturday afternoons from 1.30 until 3.45. Age Groups Nippers is offered to children aged 5 to 14 years. Age Group is determined by the age of the child as at 30th September. If the child is 9 yrs old at midnight on 30th Sept, they will be in the U10 age Group and so on. Carnivals In addition to Saturday Nippers, carnivals for U9 to U14 will be held at various beaches on Sundays. Junior State Titles will be held at the end of the season - date and location to be advised. What to wear All Nippers are required to wear the red skull cap with their Age Group number sewn on the front and a long sleeved rash top. These are available from the Uniform shop in the Club rooms (details of uniform shop opening times to follow). The shop also sells club coloured bathers, rash vests, wax for your boards and other items. When competing at carnivals, members must wear club clothing. Be Sunsmart Please ensure your Nipper wears sunsmart clothing at all times: Long Sleeved T-Shirt or rash vest, Wide brimmed hat and sunblock and a named bottle with water in it. Club swim At 4pm after Nippers, the Club holds a 400m swim, open to all senior members and competent Nippers. |

Come N Try
You can Come 'N Try if you are 5 yrs old and under 15 yrs. . A parent needs to accompany the child to sign a Waiver.
Children aged 5 & 6 yrs are eligbile for U7s. Family/Parent and the child both Register and join as members and Parent must accompany the child on the beach each Saturday. Need to bring a copy of Child's Birth Certificate (or something with their date of birth). Parent also needs a current Police Check. If you have one, please bring it. If you need one please download a form from www.surfrescue.com.au . LifesavingSA will pay for the Police Check if you get the Club to fill in the Volunteer information and Club number.
*Nippers at Brighton is cancelled when the forecast is for 38 Degrees or higher.
*On very hot days the program will be modified to suit the conditions, with more water activities. Please ensure you bring sufficient cool drinks.
