What there is to know about Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club

Everything in the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club revolves around our core business of providing beach safety and a vital community service playing a fundamental role in building healthy communities and better health outcomes for South Australians of all ages. It is a meeting place, a training college, a fitness and recreation centre, an emergency evacuation centre, conference facilities, along with encouraging plysical activity and teaching important Australian values:

  • volunteerism
  • family
  • leadership
  • teamwork
  • meeting challenges
  • pursuing excellence

Surf Lifesaving is a lifestyle. In return for the time our Surf Lifesavers put into the core business, they have so many opportunities for self development, achievement at a social, competition and qualifications level while serving the community.

Brighton Membership Opens in October. The surf lifesaving season officially opens with patrols on the beach the first weekend in November, however nippers usually begins in October with Come & Try Days for Nippers which are decided by the Nipper Committee. This recently elected 07/08 season committee will be meeting in mid September to decide on key dates. Notification of dates will be posted on this website towards the end of September. Cadets 14yrs and over have already begun training and if you are interested please drop an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club is a great example of community, education, volunteerism and teamwork. As members we all join in to make Brighton SLSC a great commuity with seniors, parents and committee members leading by example to the younger generations from being in an official accredited role such as patrolling and keeping the beach safe, being an official at carnivals, assistant and age managers, coaches, training officers or in a volunteering roster type role such as cooking a BBQ, giving of time in the uniform shop, kitchen, bar or office etc.

We encourage all members and parents of members to volunteeer in our club no matter how small the job.
